Dr. Carol Ann Blinn White did not enjoy writing until her career path took her in that direction. She worked hard in high school to get scholarships and financial aid that allowed her to attend college to study nursing. She became a registered nurse in 1992. She then went back to school and earned her Master's degree in Community Health Nursing and as an Adult and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner in 2000. She worked full-time in the nurse practitioner role for several years before she reduced her hours to part-time and started educational consulting on various nursing and medical topics. White has presented full-day seminars in forty-four states and wrote seminar manuals to support the presentations. She has also published articles in the nursing literature.
White became an undergraduate nursing professor in 2007, and a graduate nursing professor in 2008. She headed the geriatric nurse practitioner program for Indiana Wesleyan University for several years. She taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate nursing courses. She most often taught nursing research and found herself educating many students about the basics of writing.

In 2003, White created a business, Geriatric Innovations, for her clinical nurse practitioner consulting. She then incorporated that company once adding educational consulting to the business model under the name NationalHI, INC. (NHI). In 2004, she was asked by an attorney to review a few cases for him, and that was the start of NHI's legal consulting business. Today, NHI has worked with attorney clients across the country and employs several full-time staff.

In 2009, Dr. White earned her doctorate degree in nursing. She continues to teach, see patients, review cases for attorneys, testify as an expert witness in select cases, and develop life care plans for patients who have been catastrophically injured.

Dr. Whte has two grown children. In her spare time, she likes to be at the lake spending time with family and friends, wakesurfing, riding her bicycle, hiking, or writing.
